Synopsis:
Is your heart pure enough to survive the curse of the necklace?
Aware that only she can protect his sister from the intentions of the Baron Harwood, their lecherous stepfather, Temple Whiting Victoria steals the necklace is the largest family heirloom, and is believed to have the power to produce great happiness or terrible tragedies, to both sell and flee to London. Terrified at the prospect that the baron give them, Victoria poses as Tory Temple and finds work as a maid in the house of attractive Cordell Easton, the scandalous Earl of Brant.
The arrival of the sisters could not be better received. Cord was immediately attracted by Tory, whose wit and intelligence arouse curiosity. But when the baron discovers the girls' whereabouts, Cord must decide whether to marry Tory to protect it, or allow their unwavering pride to deny what the heart prompted.
My Opinion: Great book some players enough time with individuals.
When no are you more options to Victoria to protect his very innocent and beautiful sister of Baron's lustful instincts, they escape to London, taking with them the precious necklace of pearls and diamonds to sell so we can have money to live at least for a while. But after the money ran out and not get a job as governess for having no references, just servitude in the house of the Earl of Brant. Known libertine, the Earl not stop thinking about getting under the skirts of their new employees but eventually realizes that the situation is not as simple as originally thought.
With a great background, the search hit of the cousin of Conde, search Baron of its aggression, the need for Victoria to know the truth about the death of his father and a host of things that happen in the beloved city of London and its surroundings, the story is not at all boring.
Victoria is a determined woman who will stop at nothing to get what he wants and what he wants most in the world is the welfare of his sister, who by contrast is a very innocent girl despite her unmatched appeal. It is certainly a good personality for a woman of that time, which I love, and the contrast of the introverted personality Claire, is quite refreshing.
addition, there is the mystery of Curse of the Necklace, which I believe had nothing to do with the story although he does mention in a couple of occasions. Finally, Victoria's credibility is questioned by many involved situations, misunderstandings, and with some help from people who do not want at all. In the end, the Count has to decide whether to believe what your heart tells you, or what would have you believe Victoria Temple. Although I am appalled that the Count would not believe him, I must admit I have reason to think the way you do, definitely Victoria had them all against you ...
With a good finish, because the story has good ending, although I did not like the Cord attitude, I insist that I understand ...
